Our time in Xi'an was wonderful! It was only us and our guide! We got so much personal attention and so much done, so quickly!!
He just happened to be a history buff and new everything about China and world history.
The same day we went to the orphanage we visited the "Terracotta Warriors"!
There were 5 farmers that happened to discover the terracotta warriors in 1974. They were digging a well when they happened upon a piece of one of the warriors.
One of the farmers was at the sight when we were there and signed our book! That was so cool!!
The Emperor wanted to bury 8,000 live soldiers but they declined his offer so he had these warriors made instead and buried them in his tomb.
This is the site of the well- it was on the very edge of the burial site. They just about missed it!
There are 3 different burial sites.
Each warrior/soldier has a different face. No two are alike!
It was very chilly there. I did not dress warm enough. Remember to bring layers and long underwear if you are coming to China!

And as we were leaving another farmer had arrived! We were excited to get our picture taken with him!

Going to the orphanage, the excursion on the freeway and finally making it to the terracotta warriors was a long day for our kiddos. The did so so good!
Abby is already repeating english words! She is singing chinese songs and continues to have the cutest giggle I have ever heard!
It was a great day and the girls were ready to cuddle in!!
And...
Get ready for the next day at the
History Museum!
This time we brought the leapfrog explorer and snacks!
There is no way she could be that good for two days in a row!
Babba loved the history museum, I really liked it and the kids... well, the improved their leapfrog skills!
and somehow found a way to have fun!
I think Sarah is tickling Abby?
Then we went to m*sl*m quarters for shopping and lunch.
When we asked if the were Chr*stian churches in Xi'an our guide said yes 2 or 3?
And that would be for the 30,000 people that live in this city...hmmmm?
We have a lot of work to do in Ch*na!
And of course this little sheep made Abby's day! She is from the most popular cartoon in China!
We ate the authentic food here and it was very good!
(and we did not get sick!)
We hope to someday bring our older children/young adults here!
Then we shopped. One vendor wanted to sell us a children's Messi soccer uniform for $110 american dollars!
We bought it for $10!
One for Sam and one for Luke!
Sarah got a new backpack and Abby got a kalidescope!
And once again it was bedtime!
Whew!
We had fun and full days!
And again I will reiterate- bring your long johns!
There is a chill in the air!
The next morning was the bullet train to Zhengzhou!
This was our first time going on it and it was great!

We are here now and settled in! We have met a few families. There are 11 families in our group and 48 people!
Tomorrow we will meet Luke at 10:00 am!
Can't wait!!
