Photos From Gotcha Day!

Waiting for the big moment. . . I wish I was there!

Ohhhhhh, and here he comes!
Be still my heart!

Oh sweet boy!
He is itty bitty!

I can't wait to give him a hug!
I love how Ben is petting his head!
So cute!

I can't wait to give THEM a hug!

Truly I am feeling abundantly blessed!
Praising God for these two dear children!

Thank you Mark!
You are doing an awesome job!
I am guessing that Ben took this picture!
The angle is a dead give away!

And look at those muscles!
Destined to be a super hero!

Praise God for two less orphans and for blessing our family!
My heart is full!

They have Joseph (Xiao Ling)!

They met our dear boy at 2:00 this afternoon!
He arrived with a smile on his face, to tears!

Joseph was as sweet as can be on Skype- he gave his Momma lots of kisses!
He said some English words, including I love you Momma!
He chattered away in Chinese- it seemed to be clear as a bell!
Whew- no speech for these two boys!

When I talked back to him he was a bit disappointed- I didn't speak Chinese! So he tried a few English words and I went through my little repertoire of Chinese words!

The boys did let me know that Joseph is active... very very active!
Today is an extremely exciting day so hopefully he will calm down a little bit in the days to come ;-)

Ben and Joseph can talk together- so that is good!
Sometimes the dialects are very different in other parts of China and they cannot always understand each other. Thankfully they can chat away!

He is very social and curious! While checking out the shower fully clothed he turned it on and got a bit wet!

He likes to get his way and can be a little stubborn!
Now that makes 14 of us that like to get our way- the Momma and all the children that live here!
Should be interesting!

Most of the children woke up and said hello to their new didi (little brother).

Dear Hubby could not remember our new son's middle name...
details, details, details- that's just not hubby's thing!
Let's just say that they need to change the paperwork tomorrow ;-)
No honey... it's not Peter or Jacob!
It's Michael ;-)

We are so excited to have this sweet boy in our family!
Thank you Jesus!

(Hope to be getting gotcha day pics soon!
hint hint- Mark!)

Just One Question...

How on earth am I supposed to sleep when my hubby and sons are meeting our new boy?

2:00 China time!
Midnight my time...

Then a Walm*rt run...

Sleep... is just not going to happen...

We Skype at 7:00am my time...

He has waited far too long...

Can't wait until I finally get to meet him!

Praying for him and for his all that he will be feeling...

I know Hubby, Mark and Ben will do a great job!
Looking forward to our second Gotcha time when Momma gets to meet her boy!

God Bless YOU, sweet boy!

My Favorite Game!

The children have been playing a new game!

I LOVE it when they play it!

It's The Quiet Game!

No one can talk... at all!
If you make a noise, you are OUT!

These two are so competitive- they often win!

There's a lot of pointing going on and charades!

But, there is no noise : - )

Of course, I talk and lose the game right away!
They love letting me know that
I'm outta here!

It's also a perfect time to do a little teasing!
I tell them that I know what they are thinking!
They are thinking about how young and pretty and smart their Momma is!
Why thank you children!
And they can't even speak to disagree with me or else-
they're outta there!

I am loving the peace and quiet of this delightful game!

Mia won!
And now they are playing the
"You can't move game!"

Thank you children!

We went to the children's theatre and saw a play this week!
Auntie Barbie joined us!

It was Cinderella.
But, it wasn't the traditional Cinderella...

The step sister were played by men and they were hysterical!
Lots of funny jokes and slapstick humor!
They got the audience involved, so we had to be always on our toes for "our part" of the play!
It had a Christmas theme to it too because it is their holiday play!
Perfect for children and adults!

We go when the school kids go, so it's a much better price!

The guys in China are doing very well!
Hubby, Mark and Ben are very bonded. It is really nice for them to have this time together! I am a little disappointed to have missed out on this special time but I am also thankful to be here.
The children at home needed me!

Ben will miss having his big brother around all the time. He is overwhelmed looking at all of the children on Skype. He is still saying Hello Momma, I love you Momma, good morning, good night, etc to me.

Because the last couple days have been low key I am not getting any pictures- I am requesting them but they aren't coming...

Tomorrow is Joseph's gotcha day!
Can't wait!!

They will meet him at 2:00 GZ time and then go to walmart to shop. I will skype with them at 7:00am tomorrow morning- can't wait to meet our dear little boy!

The Orphanage Visit

Before we even begin-
I have to say that this orphanage is the nicest orphanage we have ever been too.
The orphanages through out China vary greatly.
Our son Sam and daughter Mia were from very very poor orphanages.
And it was heartbreaking...
In this post you will NOT see a poor and depressing environment.
BUT
you WILL see orphans.
And no matter what the environment is like
these children have no parents,
no family and no body that truly cares and will love them forever.
They don't know Jesus and no matter how nice it is - it can not replace a family.

Before going to the orphanage they stopped at the store to get gifts to donate to the orphanage, for Ben's 2 best buddies and for the children in his class.

This is where our sweet boy slept.
There were 19 children in the room.
I am guessing he will do just fine in a room with his 3 brothers!

Ben was well liked at his orphanage.
He has a good personality and was loved by all.
He is saying goodbye to 2 of the younger children and telling the little girl in the red "to be a good girl"!

From what I have heard he does well in school.
He seems to be a very compassionate and empathetic little boy.
Sometimes I wonder if they learn this because they live this.
Each child has a special need and they seem to be understanding, non judgmental and forgiving for others imperfections (because they know they are not perfect either).
What a beautiful example of turning a disability into an ability.

He gave a special gift to his two BFF's.

Everyone got a sucker!
I think it made his heart happy to give to his friends and classmates.

And then he gives a gift to his dear best friend, whom he is leaving forever...
My guess are that friends in an orphanage are more dear because they are like a brother or part of a made up family.

And of course, just like Sam he feels a need to show him how to use it!

They had an question and answer session for Ben.
The children asked how he liked his new Babba and Gege?
He said he liked them very much!
Now that just melts my heart!

Then they put on a little show for Ben's new family.
His best buds are in the pic and the little girl has a family coming for her- praise GOD!

They did their show and then they sang "Happy Birthday" to Hubby!
It was his birthday!
Hubby loved it!
It is actually our older son Matt's b-day too!
Happy 30th Birthday Matt!
Yep, our first son was born on Hubby's birthday!
Perfect planning!
I gave him the best gift ever 30 yrs ago!

His shirt was a gift from his foster family.
He was very proud of it and it was decided that it was much too nice to wear on Gotcha day so hubby had him wear it on the visiting the orphanage day!

They did not get to meet the foster parents or say good bye to them.
This orphanage doesn't allow it.
But Ben has been in the orphanage for the last year.
Once he started school and once his beloved foster sister met her forever family, he returned to the orphanage.
It must have been very hard for the foster parents and very hard for our dear son.
We know they loved both of the children very much.

The good news is we are in touch with the foster sister here in the USA! Once he is bonded and attached to his new family we are hoping to have a reunion!

The two boys intently played with the new toy!

This dear friend of Ben's will be paper ready soon!
His looks so sad, it breaks my heart...
He is 7 yrs old and is in need of heart surgery.

Please consider adopting him...
He needs a family!

Group picture!
God Bless these dear children!

And as a reward for letting them take pics ya have to have a silly one!

Forever friends...

And Ben just planted a big wet one (kiss) on his buddies cheek!
So as any self respecting young man would do- he had to wipe it off!

And then Ben decided to go in for a second kiss!

On the playground for the last time!

This sweet boy is ready for his family!
His heart is repaired and he needs someone to love him!
He is with CHSFS in St Paul, MN!

One last pic outside of the orphanage...
He is sad...
Goodbye's are hard...
Okay, I am crying for him, for all the goodbyes he had to say and for the loss he feels...

God Bless you sweet boy!
We will forever love you and take care of you!

On a happier note-
 they are in GZ now!
They are fine and all is well!
Praising GOD!
